1st of August 2014

Palmyra..Cafe 58 (Yum)

I loved it. I had Smoked Salmon and Prawns on Fettuccine with capers... And Kurt had Barramundi .... He didn't like the cumin seeds in his.. there were too many.

It was really cold outside but inside they had a wood fire burning! There was only one toilet for men and women... I checked it out!

My meal was $26.00 and Kurts was $35.00

Good night in Essex Street Fremantle at Outback Jacks... plenty of customers... service SLOW.... Real mash potatoes yum.. Salad GREAT... Meat tender BUT I didn't like the smoked charcoal burnt flavour, and expensive. I complained my Filet Mignon didn't have mushroom sauce over it and sent the waitress off to get some... And like I have already said.. the chips were lovely... My bacon had burned edges. I shared pork ribs with Kurt as an Entrée... We both had filet mignon for our maincourse... our friend had a T-Bone with Pepper sauce. My friend bought me dessert.

That's perfection to me VVVVV

On Christmas Eve we took a friend to have coffee and fish and chips at Fisherman's Harbour. We ate at Cicerello's. I had squid... The Squid was excellent... the chips were horrible. They are ALWAYS horrible and dry.. One serve is $17.50... too many horrible chips... lousy on the tartare sauce. The coffee was good but then it's hard not to get good coffee in Freo.

It was OK for a change...  I keep trying to take pictures of the aquariums but they never turn out. I have my wrong camera for that job with me.

Portorosa tonight was VERY nice. We went after the rush hour 9 pm. Prompt service by a charming German working tourist (I hope they paid him well), tender meats and a tad pricey.

Yep.... this one gets a big plus. My only complaint was the potato was too hot and it was of the instant kind.

I had veal with mushrooms and white wine sauce, mash potato and vegetables, $27.00. My only complaint was the potato was too hot and it was of the instant kind.

Kurt had Fillet Steak (Surf and Turf), chips and salad, $38.00.

Ginos is the view from the Portorosa.

This was some of the menu.

It's time to dedicate a thread to the Fremantle Cappuccino Strip which is inundated with places to eat, drink or have coffee. I went tonight thinking it wouldn't be too busy but there were a couple of thousand people taking up floor space at various places.

Tonight I went to "Pizza BellaRoma" with Kurt and another male friend of ours. The friend ate Veal Parmesan and Kurt and I had Chicken and Mushrooms in a creamy pesto sauce ... absolutely delicious... Mine was a bit rich I thought. Too much cream in the sauce... Still, I would have this again but I'm burping basil all night now while I sit here loading up pictures!...lol

Our friend gave us some of his enormous steak... It was too much for one person to eat!

OK... today I was impressed. On Canning Hway in East Fremantle I photographed a spectacular piece of street art on a bus shelter...

Very nice indeed...

It's just so lovely and blends in with the surrounding environment.

I thought I would try my hand at putting my cat in costumes… The trouble is finding good costumes…

I’ll keep trying.. I just need the right costume.

Yesterday I went for a Picnic at Yanchep National park... It was a rainy day but stopped when we arrived at the Park.

Here are some shots of semi native bush....

This was driving in...

Lots of people picnicking which was pretty good for a mildly bleak day.

It costs 11 dollars a car to get in… there are caves and Koalas which are NOT native to our state.

Yesterday afternoon I went to Kings Park. Today it rained. In some places rain is a drag but not to Perth water hungry people, it’s nothing but a blessing. We’re getting our share finally but we’re not out of he bush, I mean woods, yet…. We need lots and lots of sky juice to survive our long dry summer. Whether we get it will be another story.

Kings park is the biggest or second largest natural green area in any city on the planet, 400.6 hectares… I think it’s the biggest. Due to the rain the appearance of a rainbow was the icing on the cake. I’m pleased with the images I caught today. How many cities can brag people get around in shorts and teashirts in the middle of their winter? We can…lol This year winter has been 3 degrees C higher than normal on average.
